One of the best parts about attending industry conferences is networking and learning with and from peers. The majority of HippoCamp’s Saturday schedule will be filled with concurrent sessions in three tracks—which, by the way, align with our three-fold mission—presented by your fellow attendees.

We are accepting presentation proposals for 45-minute sessions in our three tracks:

  • CREATE: craft and technique in creative nonfiction
  • SHARE: querying, publishing and promoting your work
  • LIVE: work-life balance and living the writer’s life

Please consider submitting a proposal by October 31, 2014. November 15, 2014. (Deadline extended!)

Why present?

  • It’s fun
  • Be part of the first Hippocampus Magazine live event
  • Gain recognition from your peers
  • Earn visibility
  • A speaking credential to list on your resume, or if you are in academia, your CV
  • Welcome pre-conference lunch – attend a lunch with conference staff, volunteers, panelists and other special guests
  • Discount! Receive $150 off registration.
  • Get other cool swag
  • It’s cool to have your name in the program!

Other notes and details:

  • Presenters must be registered attendees of the conference and must register before conference program goes to print. Please see next bullet for peace of mind.
  • Submitting a proposal does not mean you are committing to attend or to present at HippoCamp; if we accept your session idea, we’ll confirm that you are definitely able to attend, and you can make your final decision then. You have time to figure it all out!
  • Presenters must agree to have their session recorded for future use and for marketing and archival purposes.
  • Presenters must agree to share slides and/or presentation materials for use for post-conference promotion.
