jennifer mcguigganJennifer (Jenna) McGuiggan is a writer, editor, teacher, speaker, and consultant. She received her MFA in writing (creative nonfiction) from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her work has appeared in New World Writing, Extract(s), Connotation Press, Numero Cinq, The Collapsar, Bella Grace, and elsewhere. She is a former assistant editor and manuscript reader for Hunger Mountain. Jenna edited and published Lanterns: A Gathering of Stories, a 50-page chapbook of words and images by seven women. She received a one-month residency and writer’s grant from Vermont Studio Center and has been accepted for a residency at The Writer’s Colony at Dairy Hollow.

In 2003 Jenna founded The Word Cellar, a freelance business offering writing and editing services, manuscript reviews, and writing coaching/mentoring. She teaches independent writing classes and workshops. Over the past 11 years she has worked with hundreds of writers online and in person. Jenna’s past speaking engagements include the following: Keynote storyteller and workshop leader at the 2013 Soul Sisters Conference in Portland, Oregon; graduating lecturer at Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2011; writing lab Panel presenter at the 2010 BlogHer Conference in New York, N.Y.; and featured speaker at a creative entrepreneurship program in New York, N.Y.
